The Canary Islands share their passion for traditional Canarian food, with most dishes being very similar on each island. Fuerteventura is no exception and offers both international food and typical Fuerteventura specialities. One famous ingredient here is ‘gofio,’ a flour of roasted and ground grains used to thicken soups and stews. The locals use gofio to even stir in their milky coffee on a morning and add it to children’s porridge. Said to be very tasty and extremely good for you, it’s well worth a try. Of course, as with any holiday destination, Fuerteventura also lots of International restaurants along with typical British and American favourites such as steaks and hamburgers. For the very best steak house, head to a place called Fado Rock, based in Caleta de Fuste it offers fantastic food at fantastic prices.
