MyTravel first came about in 1972 when David Crossland purchased Pendle Travel Services, a travel agency business comprised of two stores in Lancashire. His second buy was from Albert and Ivy Roberts, who had registered the company using their initials, A.I.R. Tours. In 2002 the Airtours name was re-branded to become MyTravel Group PLC and the airlines Airtours International and Premiair were re-branded to become MyTravel Airways. High street representatives ‘Going Places’ in the UK were not changed to MyTravel’s new name due to the popularity of the brand. MyTravel Airways owns a fleet of 31 aircrafts and has 15,000 employees worldwide.
