Getting there and getting around

You can find Kemer flights at travel.co.uk and fly to Antalya Airport (AYT) from most of the major UK airports such as London Gatwick, Manchester and Birmingham. Flights to Kemer take approximately 4-5 hours. There is a good range of 3, 4 and 5 stars hotels in Kemer and the resort has excellent transportation, which is great for getting around.

Things to do

When on Kemer holidays the main thing to do is relax on one of the beautiful beaches. The stretch of coastline from Beldibi to Tekirova has plenty of unspoilt beaches and the warm waters of the Mediterranean Sea, informally known here as the Turquoise Sea due to its amazing colour, is perfect for water sports, diving and snorkelling. Along this coastline you can visit one of the popular villages, such as Beldibi, Kiris, Göynük and the rural village of Çirali. There is not only a pristine 4km of sand, but this fantastic region also gives you the chance to discover the nature walks and sections of the Lycian Way, from which you can go and see the natural burning rock. Kemer has an attractive yacht marina and within Kemer Town you can find a wide range of shops, restaurants, cafes, and bars in which to treat yourself. This popular little resort holds many festivals through the year, such as Phaselis Art Festival and Kemer Carnival, and in the summer celebrities arrive as well known DJs perform concerts along the coast. Places of interest include the ancient cities of Olympos and Phaselis, and in Kemer Town there are some historic remains of Idryos, which are well worth a visit. Other popular excursions include trips to nearby coastal towns such as Kekova and Kas, and the mountain cites of Termessos and Arikand. Holidays in Kemer could also include treks around the beautiful lush valleys and landscape that rises up to the stunning Taurus Mountains.

Food and drink

Kemer Town is a lively spot with plenty of restaurants, bars and clubs. You can also find lots of entertainment along the marina. There are plenty of opportunities to try the local cuisine such as freshly caught fish and the ice-cream made from goats’ milk and an interesting drink to try is the orchid drink called Salep.
