Getting there and getting around

Flights to Ocho Rios fly into the Caribbean island of Jamaica. Most of the carriers are charter flights and fly direct into Montego Bay from the UK. Ocho Rios flights have a flying time of approximately 10 hours from the UK and are operated out of the major airports such as Manchester and Gatwick. The transfer time from the airport into the resort is around 1 hour 45 minutes, and this is generally included in your package holiday to Ocho Rios at the time of booking. Once in resort the best way to get around is on foot, by taxi or by organised excursions. Jamaica holidays have a Jamaican tourist entry charge of US $10, which applies to each tourist visiting the country. This is paid on entry directly to the government and goes towards the funds to maintain Jamaica’s tourist industry.
