When you make a booking for products that appear on this website you are making that booking directly with the travel agent or supplier that you select and not with travel.co.uk. We aim to assist your selection of the agent or supplier that you wish to book with by allowing them to display a brief profile of their company alongside each applicable product.

There are several organisations that oversee the travel industry in the UK. These organisations can ensure that the money that you have paid for your holiday is safe if the travel company that you have booked with goes out of business and aim to set high standards of business for the benefit of consumers. All of the agents and suppliers selling products on this website will belong to one or more of the following organisations:

ABTA - The Travel Association

Probably the most recognised body within the travel trade. For more than 50 years ABTA and its Members have been helping holidaymakers to get the most from their travel by working to high professional standards and offering choice, value and quality. Many of the travel arrangements provided by ABTA companies are protected in case of financial failure of the company and where they aren’t already protected, your ABTA travel company should be able to offer suitable insurance to cover you. ATOL - Air Travel Organiser's Licence

ATOL is a protection scheme for air holidays and flights managed by the Civil Aviation Authority (CAA). All tour operators and travel firms selling air holiday packages and flight in the UK are required by law to hold a licence called an Air Travel Organiser’s Licence.

If you've booked and contracted with a licensed tour operator for a complete air holiday package or just a flight, ATOL protects you from losing money or being stranded abroad if the tour operator goes out of business. If a licensed firm goes out of business, the CAA can give refunds to people who can’t travel and arrange for people abroad to fly home.  More information is available from www.caa.co.uk/atol

The Travel Trust Association (TTA)

The Travel Trust Association (TTA) is a trade association of Travel Agents, Tour Operators and Travel Organisers, that operate trust accounts, in order to provide total financial protection for the consumer. They operate a Trust Account backed by a fidelity insurance which covers each passenger up to £11,000 (The insurance is underwritten by AIG Europe Ltd, members of the American International Inc. Group who have assets exceeding US$100 Billion).
