Getting there and getting around

Holidays in Austria couldn’t be simpler to arrange. Flights to Austria depart several times a day from the UK with scheduled airlines such as BA, low cost airlines and charter companies. During the winter, activity increases significantly at Innsbruck Airport due to the high number of people travelling to the region for skiing holidays. Austria brings in over a million skiers every winter, and with warm wooden chalets, snow-filled streets and apfelstrudel baking in the oven, it’s not hard to see why. Vienna’s airport picks up in the summer months when Austria’s gentle warm climate comes around. Austrian locals have many different modes of transport on offer when wanting to travel from city to city. Rail connections are everywhere and taking the train is a hugely popular way to see the dramatic scenery of Austria, however it can be quite expensive.
