Holidays to Calas de Majorca (or Calas de Mallorca), a quiet resort made up of three lovely sandy beaches and excellent facilities, offer a great way to get away from it all and relax into the slow pace of Spanish island life. From the soft sandy coves to the comfort of your hotel, Calas de Majorca holidays are fantastic for getting a well-earned rest. Take the family to this charming purpose-built resort to enjoy warm sunshine and a warm welcome in the shops, bars and restaurants of this friendly destination. Take a trip to the local markets to pick up some souvenirs of your trip or a bag full of gifts to take home with you. In the evenings pull up a chair in one of the local bars and watch the world go by in the warm twilight air.
Calas de Majorca holidays have no direct flights but the airport at Palma is only an hour and a half to two hours transfer time. Transfer options include coaches, taxis or car hire. Taxis queue outside the arrivals hall and typically work on a fixed price basis, although this can vary depending on the time of day, the number of passengers and even the number of bags. Although car hire is possible it is a good idea to check an up-to-date map of your route before you depart. Hiring a car is a good way to see more of the area should you wish to go exploring on your Calas de Mallorca holidays.
Calas de Majorca holidays' appealing aspects include the opportunity to soak up the sun without a care in the world. Calas de Majorca is the sort of destination where doing as little as possible is all part of the attraction. The three beaches, Cala Antena, Cala Domingos Grans and Cala Domingos Petis, all draw crowds in the busiest summer months and the main beach has European Blue Flag status. There are a handful of water sports available to liven up your holiday, including the none-too-energetic pedaloes. The market at Felanitx, just inland from the resort, is one of the best on the island. Polish your haggling skills and head to the Sunday market to pick up some local handicrafts and souvenirs of your trip.
Calas de Majorca holidays offer a handful of eating-out options and some first-class food in the resort hotels. Try the Bistro Meson Rustic for some traditional home-cooked cuisine in this family run establishment. The restaurant serves a variety of international dishes including Spanish fare such as tapas and even a good old-fashioned British Sunday roast.
