El Arenal holidays represent the classic Spanish sun, sea and sand getaway, and the magnificent 5km of golden sand at Playa de Palma is the ultimate stretch of sun-baked beach. Spend a lazy day under the hot sun, or in the shade of an umbrella, and then cool off with a dip in the water. Enjoy water sports such as water-skiing, windsurfing and good old fashioned banana boat rides. To really make a splash on your holiday, Arenal also has its very own water park, Aqualand de Arenal. Head down to the neighbouring resort of C’an Pastille to enjoy the sights of its charming harbour area and make a few stops along the way in the numerous shops, bars and restaurants that line the promenade. A mini-train also runs between the two resorts. As the sun goes down, Arenal comes alive in music bars, karaoke venues, English style pubs and top clubs featuring International DJs. For a taste of the local history and culture take a day trip to Palma with its grand architecture and fantastic shopping districts.
There are plenty of options with regard to eating out on El Arenal holidays. You will find anything from traditional Spanish tapas to fast food joints and International restaurants of every variety. The Steakhouse Hollandia in El Arenal is popular among the red meat lovers, or you could take the mini-train to C’an Pastille to sample the Grand Peking Chinese restaurant. Wherever you choose, prices tend to be quite reasonable with good service.
