Holidays in Es Cana, a family-friendly beach resort, are a superb choice for families that want to experience Ibiza without being right amongst the hustle and bustle of Ibiza Town or San Antonio. Situated in the northeast of this famous Balearic Island, an Es Cana holiday is less about dancing till dawn in front of top international DJs and more about enjoying the calm atmosphere, white sand beach and excellent Mediterranean climate. For those looking for budget holidays to Es Cana, accommodation varies from upmarket hotels to great value self-catering apartments and villas. The main focus of Es Cana holidays is the superb beach that is lapped by the warm, shallow waters of the Mediterranean, perfect for letting the kids loose for a splash in the sea. The beaches are also supervised by lifeguards throughout the summer period. July and August are the hottest months, but obviously as this is during the UK school’s summer break period, holidays to Es Cana are highly sought, so it is wise to book early.

Holidays to Es Cana offer a short transfer time from the airport. Although there are no direct flights to Es Cana, the airport in the southeast of the island is less than 30km from the resort. If you choose package holidays to Es Cana then it is quite likely that you will already have transport to the resort. However, a taxi should cost in the region of 30-40 Euros and it is worth agreeing a set price before you leave the taxi rank. The number 24 bus runs between the airport and Es Cana but is likely to take a lot longer than a private transfer. Getting around on an Es Cana Ibiza holiday is most easily achieved on foot, as the resort is fairly compact, but taxis are plentiful should you require them and car hire is available if you want to explore the island.
Es Cana holidays, for most visitors, are simply about the sun, sea and sand of this charming little resort on the ‘White Isle’. The beaches are soft and sandy and are superb for families, with plenty of water sports on offer including water skiing, scuba diving, snorkelling, windsurfing and jet skiing. Alternatively, you can simply find a nice spot to stretch out on the sand with a good book. The climate of Ibiza takes the temperature well into the 30s in the peak summer months but there are areas of shade dotted along the coastline if it all becomes too much. A weekly ‘hippy’ market every Wednesday is a popular attraction where you can pick up a few souvenirs or some unusual trinkets, clothes and jewellery. You can take boat excursions from the old harbour area to get a great few of the Ibiza coastline or perhaps even visit one of the neighbouring resorts. Es Cana holidays offer a modest nightlife, particularly when compared with some of Ibiza’s larger resorts, but the bars and restaurants present a range of entertainment options that should keep the whole family happy.
On holidays to Es Cana you can expect a fairly varied menu on the resort’s bars, restaurants and hotels, with a fairly good standard. Expect the usual steak restaurants and pizzerias but there are also plenty of opportunities to try traditional Spanish cuisine and Balearic specialities made from fresh local produce such as the fish caught in the local harbour. Spanish paella is a great option to try some of the rich flavours on offer and you can wash it down with a nice jug of sangria to really feel the Spanish vibe.
