Getting there and getting around

Malia flights fly into Heraklion Airport, the transfer time to Maila is not long at all. Flights to Malia take around 4 hours and are operated by most charter and low-cost airlines. The flights are fairly regular departing from major and regional airports all over the UK. In the resort the best way to get around is either on foot, public transport or by taxis, which are fairly cheap.

Things to do

Holidays to Malia are generally a full on party experience, great for young groups and couples looking for fun in the sun. Malia holidays tend to revolve around the excellent nightlife and lazy days recovering on the beautiful beaches. The sandy beach in Maila is filled by Brits year upon year, the glorious sunshine makes the beach a favorite spot and the warm sea is great water sports. Banana boat rides, jet skis, windsurfing and snorkeling are brilliant for the energetic and active types. You haven’t got far to go for a delicious lunch, the promenade has an endless strip of restaurants and bars offering fabulous food at great prices. Malia is a clubbers heaven when the sun goes down, and very lively throughout the summer months. The clubs are amazing, some of those you might try are Club Malibu, Camelot Castle Club and Sugar, but there is a seemingly endless choice of brilliant clubs to dance the night away. Last minute holidays to Malia can offer excellent value as a clubbing holiday alternative to Ibiza. As well as partying there is plenty to do, visit the nearby Aqua Splash Park, shop till you drop or escape the hustle and bustle of Malia and retreat to the nearby resorts of Stalis and Hersonissos, great places to shop and visit different beaches.

Food and drink

Malia holidays have a huge selection of restaurants to choose from there is endless international cuisine from Indian and Chinese to fast-food burger and pizza bars ideal for a cheap bite to eat after a late night club. Traditional Greek cuisine can be found in the original village of Malia. Find a little taverna in a quiet spot and enjoy a Greek salad with olives; feta and meat prepared in the authentic Greek style a mouth watering experience.
