For holidays to Patara, Turkey, there are plenty of flights from local and regional UK airports flying to Dalaman airport. A number of UK tour operators and charter companies operate flights to Dalaman. Patara is around an hour and a half from Dalaman Airport by taxi or shuttle bus. To get to the beach many of the hotels operate a complimentary beach shuttle, or there are taxis and a minibus service from the centre of town. Alternatively, a pleasant walk to the beach will take around 20 minutes.

Holidays in Patara are best suited to families or couples looking for a traditional Turkish getaway with a laidback atmosphere. Patara Beach is world famous and proudly flies the EU Blue Flag that recognises its health and safety. The massive 18km stretch of sand is one of the longest in the Mediterranean and given its size, the beach never feels crowded. The beach is also in a protected national region because of the loggerhead turtles that use the beach to lay their eggs and the diverse birdlife, so there are virtually no buildings apart from a small beachside café. Umbrellas and sun loungers are available for hire at the beach. Patara holidays also offer some fascinating historical sites to visit just a 10-15 minute walk from the beach.
