Things to do

Holidays in Perissa are best known for their vast beaches. Along the east side of the island rests the beautiful beach. One of the unusual things about this beach is the black, volcanic sand that you get to lie on. While the temperature of the sand can get really hot because of its colour, the view over the area is spectacular. Many restaurants and bars line the area, and can provide a place for you to cool your feet if need be, or perhaps take a dip in the fabulous crystal waters that lap the shore. Many British holidaymakers can be found spending their days stretched out on this beach topping up their tan.

Food and drink

The cuisine here in Perissa is delicious. Many of the bars, restaurants and quaint tavernas lie on the seafront and serve a mix of both Greek specialities and international favourites. If you’re the type of person who enjoys sampling the local cuisine, then keep an eye out for ‘mezze,’ a variety of small dishes containing small portions of delicacies, from fish to salad. This is very popular here in Perissa and definitely worth a try.
